Titanic Model Kit, Centenary Edition Review
To begin with, this most certainly NOT a toy, it's a model kit that holds the distinction of being the most accurate TITANIC model ever produced, and it most certainly is for experienced modelers. I repeat; EXPERIENCED modelers, as even those with a fair number of builds to their credit will most certainly find this kit a challenge. The biggest difference between this kit and previous TITANIC models is the inclusion of wood veneers for the decks. Their use is optional, but for me were the main selling point of this kit. To use them, you'll need to trim away existing deck detail, lay the veneers, and replace the trimmed detail with photo-etch parts. Please note that on a kit this scale, these amount to some very, very tiny parts! To make things a BIT easier, the parts come molded in a variety of colors, however, if you're a stickler for detail that won't mean much, especially if you're not fond of the orange color of the funnels (the actual color is known as White Star Line buff- look it up).
All in all, the kit is everything it should be, and the patient builder will be rewarded with an amazing scaled replica!
