I was really excited as were a lot of G1 fans to see that Takara was going to masterpiece Rodimus Prime. The original toys were really neat in vehicle mode but were garbage in robot mode. I just recieved this masterpiece version from BBTS yesterday and while it does look good in robot and vehicle modes, it is a real let down due to quality issues. First, it cannot hold its gun. The holes in Rodimus' hands are too big for the pegs on the sides of the hand grips and his hands are very flimsy. Second, the chaps around his legs break off during transformation. These parts are screwed on with a screw that doesn't have a head. It looks like it may have been damaged at the factory. Third, it is extremely difficult to transform it into winnebago mode. It doesn't have a guide or a slot to put the cab into the trailer so you have to squish it in backwards and clip the cover over the top. Also, the big yellow spoiler doesn't fit into the trailer slot so you have to cram it in and it rubs off the paint of the trailer onto the spoiler in the process. To top it all off, this piece costs $221 shipped! Takara should be ashamed of themselves for these quality issues. I also have the masterpiece Grimlock from TRU and that one has high quality. They need to go back to the drawing board when they release the American version.
