I agree with all points in the 1st review, except I have better things to say about the tracks, which are double-sided.
What I like about these blue tracks is that they are very easy for my 4-yr old to put together, and she has average dexterity. She just takes them apart and snaps them back in. I compare to the toy train that I had growing up. It was the modeling type of train set w/ the Sante Fe engine and the metal tracks... fun to set up but it hardly worked and the connectors took forever to troubleshoot. These Tomy trains will run and run. I've seen kids fling the engines and track pieces across the room and everything holds up and goes back together.

Where we play trains, we have a flat surface. I do not recommend this set-up on carpet; Put a mat underneath. If you do have carpet, go for the tan Trackmaster type tracks that go with Thomas (yes, these Tomy trains run on that Thomas track & vice versa). Trackmaster has a slightly wider base and is a hollow, one-sided track.

The road pieces are the same cardboard material as a large toddler floor puzzle. Don't expect plastic. Again, easy for my preschooler to put together and take apart.

Love Tomica die-cast cars. Hot Wheels are nice but too over-the-top. Tomica is just like what we'd see on the road, and they usually have a door or truck or some other thing that opens. Very fun!

Bottom line, this is a lot of fun--
But I recommend Tomica Highway Pursuit over any other playset. Look it up on Youtube for a video to see.
