Now I have raced many 4 wheel short courses, and this to me is better than any other by far. The main competition is the Traxxas Slash 4 x 4 Brushless Pro 4WD Short Course Truck (Platinum Edition), 1:10 Scale. However, this is cheaper and is a lot more durable. This also comes with better tyres. The Slash has a driveshaft system that works pretty good. The TA SC10 4x4 is belt drive which cuts down on weight, and on this model gives you the option to have only rear wheel braking. The car can be fully adjusted with the set of tools that it comes with. I personnally when bashing prefer to jack the ride height up almost to 0.8 inches, and when racing use about 0.22 inches. I replaced the motor and ESC with a Castle Creations 010-0090-00 Sidewinder SCT Combo with 1410-3800KV Motor, and the radio system with a Spektrum 2121 discontinued Dx2s Dsm 2-Ch Transmitter and Receiver for optimal performance. The car itself is a lot lighter than the Slash, and has much more extras included in the package. I use Team Associated 5438 Weight Silicone Shock Oil, 47.5/2-Ounce in both front and rear and for the diffs I use IMEX SILICONE DIFF. OIL 7,000 WT 2.7 OZ in the front and IMEX SILICONE DIFF. OIL 30,000 WT 2.7 OZ in the rear. I traded out the servo for a Savox SC-0254mg High Torque Standard Size Digital Servo and the bellcrank with a ST Racing Concepts STC91000B Aluminum Steering Bellcrank System SC10 4 x 4 (Blue). I use Pressure Points, Green, Mnt Hazard Blk 12mm Whl in the front and J Concepts 304405 Bar Codes SC Tire 2.2/3.0 Compound, Gold in the rear mounted on Hazard 12mm Hex Wheel, 3mm Wider Off Set, Yel:SC10. I have won many races with this setup, and love this car to death. I would reccomend this to anyone who wants a hobby grade R/C car. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Team Associated 90005 SC10 4x4 RTR Lucas Oil 2.4GHz" are high quality item.
