Upper Bounce 6 Pole Trampoline Enclosure Set (Trampoline not Included), 12-Feet Review

The first problem with this product is that it came with no instructions. I was able to figure out how to put it all together on my own, but a single sheet of paper with a couple of illustrations would have gone a long way to helping.

The metal tubes under our trampoline are 1-3/4" in diameter. The clamps that come with this enclosure are designed for smaller tubes, probably 1 1/2". The clamps are a figure 8 shape, with a hinge on one side and long bolts for the other side. When I tried to clamp the enclosure tube to the trampoline tube, the clamp wouldn't close around the trampoline tube enough to fit the nuts on the bolts.

I called Upper Bounce to see what to do about this, expecting to mail off the hardware and get something that fit in return. The woman I talked to sounded annoyed that I had called. When I explained the problem, she curtly told me that I could go to a hardware store and get longer bolts. When I asked about alternate hardware, she said there is none and got off of the phone as quickly as she could. I didn't expect the royal treatment, but this was bordering on rude, not the way a customer should be treated.

So I bought longer bolts, and tried again. It didn't work. I could tighten the clamps, but the opening for the enclosure tube wouldn't tighten enough to clamp onto that tube. I tightened the clamp until the bolt end deformed, and I could still move the enclosure tube freely. Luckily I have access to a bench grinder, so I manually ground off enough of the inside of the clamps to make them fit. Once I did that it all went together fairly quickly and easily.

The enclosure itself seems to be well made. It has been up for a week and seems like it will hold up well to being exposed to the weather.
