2013 HASA 21 Speed Kids Mountain Bike (SHIMANO) 24 INCH White Review
I was not not familiar with HASA, so I was really hoping that ordering this bike I'd never seen wouldn't be a mistake. So I actually bought this exact bike in white from this same seller cyclingdeal_usa on Ebay for my 10 year old daughter. The price was the same listed here, 299. I'm writing a review here on Amazon because ebay sucks for product reviews. Hope this helps to benefit anyone else that finds themselves looking for a transitional "second" kid's bike, but is less than impressed with the mass market brands, and also doesn't want to spend upwards of $500 on a higher end bike. I spent a ridicluous amount of time looking around for a quality bike that was fairly light, but that also looked nice enough for a rather picky daughter. I originally looked at bikes in the $250 range like Diamondback Lustre and cheaper sub $200 ones like the Mongoose Maxim and Diamondback Tess. The problem is pretty much any brand new sub 200 bike is going to have a steel frame that weighs more than two of my adult bikes combined. I honestly think it's dangerous and stupid to put a small kid on a 40 lb bike and send them out into traffic. Not to mention the whole reason I wanted to get a new lighter framed bike with quality gears, cogs, derailleur, etc for my youngest daughter is that she could not keep up with the rest of our family who all ride adult bikes. So my quandry and challenge was to find a bike that fit her now, but wasn't a throw away and was high enough quality that she could keep it for a few years. Reading the component list on this bike actually made me look twice at it. If you dont know much about the different manufacturers of bike components, just trust me that the other bikes I mentioned don't provide parts lists like this in the product descriptions because they are using the generic or basement level components and figure most people won't know the difference. Great brands from my childhood like mongoose are total crap now, but i won't go off on that tangent. So, when I was interested and researched the company HASA, they turned out to be a pretty solid manufacturer out of Taiwan that's cranking out some real high value bikes. Anyway, when this bike arrived I was kind of blown away by the quality and solid feel, for this price anyway. But hey, I have Specialized FSR, and I appreciate how much more $$ a high end bike can run. Anyway my kid loves this white design and sophisticated look and I cant get her off the thing. I highly recommend the bike and the seller to anyone looking to get the best bang for the money. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "2013 HASA 21 Speed Kids Mountain Bike (SHIMANO) 24 INCH White" are high quality item.
