Fellowes PowerTrim Electric Paper Trimmer (5413001) Review

It's big ... trims 16" paper. The clamp holds the paper well. The cutting is very good, so far. I'm cutting 20 lb. bond and thin encyclopedia paper. It does cut 30 sheets without prob. The viewer for aligning works and is much better than it sounds ... takes a little longer than a guide but I have been able to cut precisely which is important for my application which doesn't leave much room for coil binding.

I've gotten some inferior cuts at office supply stores, even from people who are really careful but dealing with blades that aren't sharp and hold downs that aren't strong enough to stop small slippage. The replacement blades aren't too exensive. It uses multiple cuts which is something I thought of myself and wondered why it wasn't implemented in more expensive machines since it only adds about a second per cut compared to the amount of time to align and secure the paper.

Maybe this review sounds like an advertisement but check my other reviews. I'm a regular consumer doing a large project and a little obsessed with rebinding books.

P.S. One reason I took a chance on this. although a little pricey, was because of the Fellowes paper shredder still sitting in my office after 10 years and working great.
