Product Description
Jason's Machete is cast directly from a film used prop. This metal and wood reproduction of Jason's iconic weapon is 3 feet in length and has the real weight and feel of an actual machete. The blade edge is dull and this item is not a toy, it is a prop replica for display use only.Friday The 13th (2009) - Jason's Machete Replica Review
First of all, I can't believe no one reviewed this thing before I did. It's been available for more than 2 years now. Anyway..... If you're a fan of Friday the 13th, you will absolutely love this thing. I sure do. The blade is made of solid steel and the handle of solid hard wood. This is definitely no cheap replica. The blade is aged to look as though it's 20 or 30 years old. It features stains of dried blood and rust. Incredibly realistic-looking. The handle is aged, also, with a waffle-grid pattern of black squares burned into the sides, and black marks where a hand would grip the handle. A strap of leather and a strap of durable cloth mesh are tied together and looped through a hole at the back of the handle. It can be easily removed, if you so desire. I was simply in awe of it when I opened the box and took it out for the first time. It's extremely heavy. Like, 8 pounds. I can't even hold it with one hand, unless it's pointed straight up or straight down. LOL..... I don't have the strength to carry it stuck straight out, like Jason does. The blade also looks as though it's sharp, but it isn't. As advertised, this is a prop replica, and not a "genuine" machete (I consider it to be one, though). Although dull, the blade's edge is quite thin, and might be able to be sharpened, if you have the means, or access to someone who does. I'm not going to bother, though, as, for me, this thing is going to be used for display purposes only. I plan to tie the straps into a knot and hang it from a hook in my wall, next to my NECA Jason mask and my "Welcome to Camp Crystal Lake" sign. I read somewhere that only 500 of these replica machetes were ever made. So pick one up if you get the chance. Believe me, it's well worth every penny. I grew up with the Friday the 13th films, and this has heavy nostalgia value for me. Buy it! You will most definitely not regret doing so!Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Friday The 13th (2009) - Jason's Machete Replica" are high quality item.
